Stream Tweets at your event with a Twitter Wall

Described by Twitter’s own Brand Manager for the UK over 50% of Twitter conversation is related to campaigns or event specific activities, so chances are that your event attendees or brand ambassadors are bound to be using the platform to talk about you!

Why Twitter is essential for events?

With a captive audience, you can easily connect directly with your audience and the wider community by inviting and promoting social conversation.  The easiest and best way is through the use of your unique event or campaign hashtag.

Through the use of this hashtag and even better with a social wall or Twitter wall, your audience is driven to connect and promote your event or brand campaign even more with instant gratification of seeing their Tweet on screen.

Tack on our gamification and engagement features and like many of our clients, you may may even achieve trending status as result of the integration of a social wall.

What Twitter content will be shown on your Social Wall?

When you set up your social wall session, you choose what content will be pulled in from Twitter.

You can choose as many as you want from the followiing options:

#Hashtag : all Tweets on Twitter containing the #hashtag you specify will be pulledd in to your session - of course you'll have your event #hashtag, but you can also pull in other related hashtags. This is especially useful if attendees have started quoting one that's not the official event hashtag.

All Tweets from a user :  all Tweets from specific @usernames - that could be be your brand, a sponsor exhibitors or even speakers. .

All Tweets mentioning a user :  all tweets that mention a specific @username within the message.

Tweets from a Twitter List :  Have you made a Twitter List of all your speakers, exhibitors or VIP's that will be attending your event? If so you can choose to pull in all the conversation from the select feed.

Tweets including a keyword :  Any Tweets that contain the keyword that you choose - maybe your event name or brand etc.

How will Tweets appear on my screen?

Depending on  the social wall template and content settings you choose pictures and videos will be displayed alongsideTwitter messages inlcuding profile pictures and @usernames. The size shape and design will depend on your social wall template or design choices.

What if you want to display other Twitter content on your Social Wall?

Well, the good news is that our Curation feature in our ProTool lets you bring in any Tweet from Twitter - You can bring in messages that don’t contain the event hashtag or any of the other criteria in your settings, or maybe it was posted on Twitter. You can curate this content with a copy and paste of the Tweet url or even quicker using our Google Chrome extension.

What makes Twitter different than other social platforms?

The biggest differentiator with Twitter is that social messages are limited to 140 characters and content over the channel is moving very quickly.  It is not unusual to Tweet 20+ times a day to meet people visiting the channel throughout the day.

Case Usage : Gorkana PR

To drive awareness Gorkana, PR  uses social walls alongside their regular press briefings.  With a focused audience, many of their events result in trending status, giving the event even greater exposure.

#EventTip

Pre planning your Twitter content for your event is extremely valuable. Use programs like Buffer or Hootsuite to help you plan and schedule Tweet content in advance of your event.

#SocialMediaTip

The most important thing for your event is your event hashtag, so be sure to create something short, memorable, and unique. Content is limited to 140 characters so you don’t want to take up too much space! Additionally you want the content to be unique so you can link with the ‘right people’.
